Real Wedding: Melissa + George

Melissa and George wed at Terminal City Club on a beautiful Spring weekend in May 2013, with the help of a talented line-up of wedding vendors, their day was a fabulous celebration filled with lots of love, laughs and gorgeous details. Check out a few of their photos courtesy of photographer, Lee Halliday. We are particularly in love with the shots of the two on the dance floor – so glamorous and how stunning is that dress?!

The Food & Drink: Following their nearby church ceremony, guests arrived at the Club and were welcomed with classic Kir Royale cocktails and chilled craft beers.  Passed hors d’oeuvres were plentiful and included, house-baked cheddar scone “BLT”s, boursin cheese stuffed tomatoes and lamb lollipops. Terminal City Club’s own blend of B.C. red and white wines were poured for guests during the deluxe buffet dinner service. And, finally, as a late night pick-me-up, guests indulged in drive-in inspired snacks in between dances.

The Entertainment:  The talented team at The Collective You captured stunning shots of guests as they arrived at the Club while pianist Michael Creber performed throughout cocktail hour.  DJ John Hondronikolis, a friend of the couple’s, provided the party music throughout dinner and into the evening.

The Decor: Leo and his creative team at Wish Events helped bring the couple’s vision to life using clean, classic white and various shades of purple.  White chiavari chairs were accented with purple sashes and tables were dressed with white silk linens, purple pin-tuck runners and finished with soft, billowy arrangements of hydrangeas.

A genuinely lovely couple and a joy to work with, we simply couldn’t be happier for Melissa and George!

Real Wedding: Catherine + Aaron

Catherine and Aaron wed at the Club on Saturday, June 15 in a simple, heartfelt and romantic ceremony under the Metropolitan Ballroom’s vintage chandeliers.  It was particularly important to them to provide their guests with an evening of great wine, delicious food, and, overall, a memorable and lively celebration.  You can tell by these gorgeous shots from photographer Helene Cyr, that they did just that!

The Food & Drink: Following the ceremony was a sparkling reception where Prosecco was plentiful and guests mingled amongst passed hors d’oeuvres which included BBQ pork lollipops and tuna poke. The meal being of particular importance, Catherine and Aaron opted for a custom multi-course menu that included a variety of plated and family style dishes. Highlights included tomato bocconcini salad, hand-made gnocchi with gorgonzola cream and crispy pancetta, wild mushroom risotto and brioche halibut, among other things. To complete the evening, guests enjoyed a deluxe dessert buffet featuring cheese, fruit, cakes, torts and a variety of house-made sweets.

The Entertainment: A string trio provided classical live entertainment during the ceremony and sparking reception. Jesse from Presto Entertainment ensured a lively reception with DJ entertainment throughout the evening.

The Décor: Capitalizing on the elegant features of the Metropolitan Ballroom, the couple opted for simple and classic décor with white floor length linens, soft white hydrangea centerpieces and plenty of candlelight.

Congratulations again Catherine and Aaron!

Saying ‘I Do’ with The Chapel Group

Last week we had the pleasure of sitting down with the lovely Marie-Astrid Dubant of The Chapel Group, a Vancouver based company invested in helping couples say, “I Do” with personalized ceremonies. Our goal was to find out more about how The Chapel Group could help Terminal City Club couples looking to tie the knot.

While many couples are familiar with The Chapels’ local ceremony venues (Minoru ChapelQueen Elizabeth Park, & Stanley Park), many don’t know that The Chapels also offers custom wedding ceremony services for any wedding ceremony location throughout the city (i.e. Terminal City Club..nudge, nudge..)!

The Chapels

Here’s just a few of the things you can expect when arranging your wedding ceremony services with The Chapel Group:

  • professional and caring roster of experienced wedding officiants
  • complimentary consultation before you book
  • wedding officiant in attendance at your wedding rehearsal
  • option to add live music (pianist, violinists, and more)
  • option to add traditional and personalized elements into the ceremony
  • services in Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese or English
  • Spanish & Korean translation services

We were thrilled to see the options available to couples looking for a more personalized ceremony experience for their day. We were even more excited to see just how passionate Marie and her team are about the services they provide. They love helping couples through such an important tradition and understand that each couple deserves a ceremony just as unique as their love.

Give them a call to arrange your complimentary consultation and be sure to let them know TCC sent you!
