Weddingful Industry Social at TCC

On Thursday, July 25, Terminal City Club played host to Weddingful’s 2013 Wedding Professionals’ Networking event.  Vancouver has no shortage of talented wedding vendors and it was a wonderful opportunity to get together mid wedding season to catch up, meet new connections and discuss marketing tips for the local industry.

Following an address from Weddingful CEO Angel Pui and a panel discussion with Patrick Lui, Owner of TT Lui Photography, Shawn Miller, Owner of Young, Hip & Married, Nathalie Escudero, Owner of Luscious Creations, and Jennifer Dolnik, Group Sales & Event Manager at Top Table Group (Araxi, Blue Water Cafe, CinCin, West, Thierry), guests mingled in Terminal City’s Metropolitan Ballroom while enjoying light refreshments and the sounds of Ben Henriques.

WedLuxe Styled Shoot: Chateau de Chambord

Earlier this Spring we teamed up with a few of Vancouver’s most fabulous wedding pro’s to bring to life a styled shoot inspired by the famous Château de Chambord in Loir-et-Cher, France.  Currently featured in WedLuxe’s Wanderlust issue, we simply couldn’t be more excited to share all of the luxurious details with you! 

Nargess Tarbrizy of Fleur de Lis Events was the Producer and Creative Director for the shoot.  Her attention to detail, vivid imagination and fabulous sense of style meant every element lent itself perfectly to creating an elegant soiree a la Château de Chambord. Shot in Terminal City Club’s Metropolitan Ballroom and Gibson Suite, the vintage chandeliers, silk wallpaper, and rich window finishings served as the perfect backdrop. Jasalyn Thorne Photographers captured the editorial, flowers were created by Sunflower Florist, stationary was crafted by Papier by Judy and the cake was designed by Berliosca Cake Boutique.

Real Wedding: Catherine + Aaron

Catherine and Aaron wed at the Club on Saturday, June 15 in a simple, heartfelt and romantic ceremony under the Metropolitan Ballroom’s vintage chandeliers.  It was particularly important to them to provide their guests with an evening of great wine, delicious food, and, overall, a memorable and lively celebration.  You can tell by these gorgeous shots from photographer Helene Cyr, that they did just that!

The Food & Drink: Following the ceremony was a sparkling reception where Prosecco was plentiful and guests mingled amongst passed hors d’oeuvres which included BBQ pork lollipops and tuna poke. The meal being of particular importance, Catherine and Aaron opted for a custom multi-course menu that included a variety of plated and family style dishes. Highlights included tomato bocconcini salad, hand-made gnocchi with gorgonzola cream and crispy pancetta, wild mushroom risotto and brioche halibut, among other things. To complete the evening, guests enjoyed a deluxe dessert buffet featuring cheese, fruit, cakes, torts and a variety of house-made sweets.

The Entertainment: A string trio provided classical live entertainment during the ceremony and sparking reception. Jesse from Presto Entertainment ensured a lively reception with DJ entertainment throughout the evening.

The Décor: Capitalizing on the elegant features of the Metropolitan Ballroom, the couple opted for simple and classic décor with white floor length linens, soft white hydrangea centerpieces and plenty of candlelight.

Bridal Trends: Spring 2014

With 2014 wedding dates booking up quickly, we can’t help but get excited for the beautiful gowns Spring 2014 has in store!

Gowns by top designers, including Monique Lhuillier, Romona Keveza, and Reem Acra, were showcased at the recent Bridal Fashion Week held in NYC.  From short lace dresses to gowns adorned with delicate embellishments, the designer frocks did not disappoint when it came to options for next year’s nuptials.   Here are just a few of our favourites!

Real Wedding: Sarah + James

Sarah + James celebrated their wedding day at Terminal City Club on March 23, 2013.  Their ceremony and reception, attended by an intimate guest list of close friends and family, was elegant and filled with personal touches.

The Décor: Tables were given the names of B.C. lakes and parks and decorated with bright tulips and rustic tree trunk slabs, bringing an elegant West Coast Spring theme to the ballroom.

The Food & Drink: Following the I Do’s, guests toasted the newlyweds with a glass of bubbles and continued on to the Metropolitan Ballroom where they nibbled on hors d’oeuvres of roast lamb, savoury beet and goat cheese cones and gourmet wild mushroom pizzettas. For dinner guests enjoyed a plated meal that included Alaskan scallops, maple miso sablefish and a decadent dessert buffet.

The Entertainment: Guests were greeted with live piano entertainment while they waited for the ceremony to begin and Audio Edge DJ helped everyone dance the night away with fun classics.

Last week we had the pleasure of sitting down with the lovely Marie-Astrid Dubant of The Chapel Group, a Vancouver based company invested in helping couples say, “I Do” with personalized ceremonies. Terminal City Club Welcomes Flowerz!

Today we are SO excited to share that Flowerz has opened a second retail shop in part of the Terminal City Club retail space on Cordova Street in the heart of Vancouver.

The talented team at Flowerz are experts when it comes to flowers and decor – something that is evident before you even cross the front doors of their shop. Stepping inside you’ll find creative and awe inspiring displays amongst the vibrant bouquets and bins of flowers all arranged by colour. We love that everytime we visit there is something new to admire!
